Mission Bay 2008

In 2006 Marty was the successful tenderer  to build a new home that Paul Clarke of Crosson Clarke Carnachan had designed for us.
He came well recommended by the Architects.
Because of some significant health problems I wanted the whole building process to be as stress free as possible and Marty gave me immediate confidence to achieve that. And he did ! He is very well organised with systems to ensure the project runs smoothly. His strong personality ensures he addresses issues as they arise. He is a hard worker who demands a lot from himself and has high expectations of others.

Marty operates his business in a family manner . He is very much the leader but also cares considerably about the welfare of his staff and takes great pride in their skill development. Likewise he has a core group of sub- contractors, he calls them his ‘tight five ‘, who know Marty’s exacting requirements on quality and delivery who also sit within the family. The construction of our new home was always going to be a challenge for any competent builder.

Technically it was a very difficult house to build but because of the close liaison throughout between architect and builder the whole process ran remarkably smoothly. The finishing detail of the home required great skill and accuracy and it has been achieved admirably.
Marty has a strong sense of social responsibility toward less fortunate peoples and we admire him for that.

Thanks Marty for the major role you and your staff played in providing  us with the wonderful home that we are so much enjoying.

Remuera 2003 : New Home Construction

"During 2003 Marty and his crew built our new house. The task was not easy. The site is steeply sloping and had stability problems, and the plans called for a very complex design utililising lots of concrete, steel, wood, aluminum and glass. Marty has been involved in the project during the planning stages, and once he started working n the job officially he became both the project manager and master builder. He has a great ability in understanding and implementing architectural plans, and this was aptly demonstrated in this project.

If we were building again, we would without hesitation ask Marty to do the work, we would recommend anyone else to do the same."
Herne Bay 2001 : Villa Renovation

"Six years ago Marty tendered, along with three other builders, for the job of renovating our 100 year old Villa.  The work involved building a second story incorporating two bedrooms and ensuite, rejuvenating ground floor bedrooms, bathroom and living spaces and the restoration of villa features which required considerable craftsmanship.
Right from the point of initial contact Marty impressed us with his enthusiasm, professionalism and attention to detail. We were quickly confident that the tender was well prepared, and that his team was highly capable as we had met many of the subcontractors during the tender process. The job commenced in September and was fully completed in time for us to move back home to celebrate Christmas. We knew we has set a tight time frame and at no time was there ever a suggestion of us being disappointed."
